THE
MEMORIAL SERVICE |
|
Todd was such a wonderful husband during this tragedy. Since I was so sick, he was forced to make all the difficult decisions on his own. He chose the funeral home to make all the arrangements through. Along with deciding on cremation for Hope, Todd also chose a beautiful porcelain, baby block urn to hold her ashes. I admire Todd’s strength and courage. Not only was he dealing with the loss of his newborn daughter, he was also worried about the health of his wife. My mother and mother-in-law, Cyndie, planned the actual memorial service, which was held on Saturday, November 6th. They ordered flowers and planned the meal. Mom called Pastor Tom Ball to ask him to conduct the service. They were wonderful with taking care of the details because I was still in the hospital. The service was very short, but very personal…just how Todd and I like things. It reminded me of our wedding; short, simple and sweet. This was a beautiful way to say good-bye to our precious daughter….as well as grand-daughter, great grand-daughter, niece and cousin. Ironically, Pastor Ball had an entire story in Hope's memorial message about a single flower bloom. That single, beautiful daisy found that morning was a perfect symbolism of our precious daughter, Hope. |
